Parking Control

Gilbeys Yard, Parking Control

Gilbeys Yard is a Residential Environment that is persistently blighted by nuisance vehicles if it is not managed properly

2025 - The yard always has vehicle issues and requires consistent professional parking control.  Not surprising, as it neighbours the 4th busiest tourist area in UK - Camden Market.  It is severely abused by workers', residents' and visitors' vehicles. Obviously this location requires significantly more robust parking control than usual residential areas.

Riverside / One Housing own all Gilbeys Yard Land (Land Registry documents presented below), except for the Grade II Listed Interchange Building and Henson Building and there is a surrounding Conservation Area of Gilbeys Yard (as shown in screen shots below) . Both heritage buildings have metal studded areas around them, set into the cobbles, marking their land boundaries / parking areas.

Since August 1st 2017 CPM (UK Car Park Management Ltd) have been Riverside / One Housing's chosen parking control contractor (excluding the Henson and Interchange parking spaces).

We have not seen CPM parking wardens on the east side of Gilbeys Yard in a long time and it is increasingly being abused and our residential  environment eroded.

NONE of the surrounding / neighbouring businesses / residents have any right to park on Riverside One Housing Gilbeys Yard land, that includes any LabTech property; staff, occupants, tenants, subtenants, visitors or deliveries including Camden Market,  Associated Press Interchange Building; staff, occupants, tenants, subtenants, visitors or deliveries  and The Henson Building; staff, occupants, tenants, subtenants, visitors or deliveries, nor St George - Camden Goods Yard; staff, occupants, tenants, subtenants, visitors, deliveries nor construction personnel. CPM should be ticketing any parking including the above listed neighbouring businesses, even if they say they have the right to park, as it has come to our attention that landowners / tenants seem to be misinforming occupants of their property that they have the right to park on Gilbeys Yard land - this is not correct and CPM must enforce parking control with all neighbouring business staff / occupants.
